I've only been to a few cons - FWA, RCFM, and MFM.
Here are the years I went:
FWA 06, 07, 08, 09
RCFM 06, 07, 08
MFM 06
FWA
'06 - My first furry con. I volunteered and had a lot of fun, and
really wanted to get involved!
'07- Mainly took care of the fursuiters and helped whereever I was
needed.
'08 - Board Elect. Helped with the fursuiters and running FWA.
'09 - I'm now a Board member for Furry Weekend Atlanta. Being on the
board has been very difficult, and is very time consuming. Helping the con
as much as I can has been very rewarding. I also love the fursuiters, and
that's where I still focus the most of my energy, when I'm not busy helping
run things.
‘10 – Still a board member – Tigerpaw won’t let me leave. This year I’m running
the Fursuit Track, but I still don’t lose any other responsibilities. With
some great staff and volunteers, I’m sure I’ll pull it off no problem.
RCFM
'06 - After attending FWA, I really wanted to go to more conventions and
get involved there, too. I volunteered and had a great time. I was asked on
staff at the end of the con.
'07 - On staff with the fursuiters, and also did a few 'Iron Artist'
style panels.
'08 - Staffed with the fursuiters again, also did one 'Iron Artist'
panel. This is the last year I will staff RCFM. I hope they grow to become
a great convention, but I just don't have the time with FWA, Wyatt, Drew,
Christine, and the rest of my life.
MFM
'06 - Relax-a-con for Tiger Nick. This was also Polo's first con. I really
had a lot of fun, met a lot of other fursuiters, and.. had a lot of fun. I
heard a lot about MFM, and it's one of those cons you either really love,
or hate. I like the low-key atmosphere - although I'm only there for the
fursuiting track, not panels, or anything else.
Made lots of new friends, and fursuiters that I'd simple saw online, or
heard about.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend MFM 07 – With my kids and being a
board member for FWA, and on RCFM Staff, I can only dream about returning
to have more fun.
